Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to release next year, and while many are hoping to see the game in action at the next PlayStation Showcase, right now gamers only have the reveal trailer to go off. However, even with this limited information on what will be included in the main game, a Marvel’s Spider-Man 2fan has shared their ideas for DLC.

If the fan got their wish, the post-launch content would be split up into three different DLC chapters that come together to tell one connected story. This format will surely be familiar to fans of the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, as the City That Never Sleeps DLC run was handled the exact same way. Each of these fan-made concepts features a fresh villain, ensuring that the game’s boss lineup would grow significantly by the time this hypothetical DLC finished releasing.

Created by Reddit user wil_je-vechten, the proposed DLC content seems to have a theme of monstrous villains. Swapping out the more human foes for the fantastical members of Spidey’s rogues gallery, the first expansion concept features what is undoubtedly the most obscure villain of the bunch. Stegron is a human dinosaur with a genius-level intellect, and when transformed he uses his tail and claws to attack any who oppose him. While seeing dinosaurs in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man universe would be a big change, they could be a blast to fight.

After “A New Monster,” players would begin “A Dark Night,” a DLC focused on the always conflicted character Morbius. While the critically panned film based on the character has soured Morbius’ reputation, as even the comments section of this Redditor’s post includes some “it’s Morbin’ time” memes, he serves as one of the most morally complex foes that Spidey has faced off with. Morbius appearing in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2would provide an opportunity for a powerful story, and from a gameplay perspective, it could be a lot of fun to battle some vampires.

Rounding out the list is “A Drop of Blood,” which features The Lizard. With Dr. Curt Connors shown in the post credits scene for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and a backpack collectible confirming that he has already transformed into the Lizard at least once, he is the one character in this fan's lineup that seems very likely to appear. With hundreds of upvotes and several positive comments for this collection of DLC concepts, it seems like wil_je-vechten knocked it out of the park with their quick mockups.

WithMarvel’s Spider-Man 2’s release window still being left as a vague 2023, it will be awhile before fans learn whether the game will receive any major DLC. If it does, the villains featured in these concepts would certainly be nice to see in action, as they differ greatly from the villains featured in the series thus far.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to release in 2023 for PS5.
